Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. :
Chinese Proverb

My “Fishery schools” :
· Quality Metal Works ( Since 1968)
During my school holidays , I started working at the mechanical workshop of my father. The first day's instruction from him is still imprinted in my mind.
He said "Start your work as a layman labour here , experience the things from root " .
If you do not wish to begin your work as helper for the mechanic , please quit !.
My father is a godfather to me (My father passed away in Dec 2014).
· Sanath Systems ( Since 1998)
After my education , worked in QMW and wished to start a computer hardware shop. With zero cash investment , now it is running on its own and supports 10 families.
· KarMic ( Since 1999)
My eldest cousin brother“Babu Anna” ,who is popularly known as Mahant started the VLSI training and Design Centre.I see similar qualities between my father and Mahant sir.
· KTRC Nesargi ( Since 2008)
KarMic Training Centre shifted to Nesargi ,
“Pranjal” trains rural students of 10th standard passed. Weak economical family background is one of the criteria for selection.
· Salahalli Farms ( Ancestral) (My involvement since 2007 Jun)
It is a different experience in shaping the barren land to fertile
Salahalli is our ancestral place where we have these agricultural lands.
A small portion of the field was lying barren since 20 years , It was hit by soil corrosion and was good for nothing.
For the guidance in agriculture , my father directed me to my cousin brother VijuAnna ( popularly known as Viju goudru in Salahalli) and V.S.Patil in his work field.

Vijuanna is helping me setting up the things in Salahalli.

To learn the situation of our farmlands, we have visited Vijuanna at Gokak.
Vijuanna explained me about our lands , dependency on rains , Principles we have to adapt ,
village psychology and much more.

Standing at "Sattiga Mani " hola, It felt like, "Madlimaar" hola is challenging me,

can you develop this?

Learning from Babuanna (Mahant sir) helped me here. His vision is very powerful.
He has put me in challenging jobs from last 10years, starting the training centre in D-115, first connections far away from the centre ..., 100% Linux office..

Directed me to visit Salahalli, with the help of Naagappa we have visited all our farm lands along with Jaggu( Jagadish Patil) and Tallur Gurupadappa.

* " Madlimaar " land was a barren land.

We could see only thorn trees, was good for nothing.
We started locating the borders of the land , searched for old maps at my cousine brothers place ( Late .Shri.R.T.Patil) , Rudruanna was MLA of Ramadurg , His son Girish Patil gave the old land map of the village. , records , identified the stones marked for borders

We could locate the border stones with the help of surveyors, collected mesurement documents from the Ramadurg record office .

By this time , I had tried five times to meet the farmworker who worked in that land 20years back , only I could meet his last son Raama , who is physically challenged , lost his right hand because of negligence of his only parent who is uneducated when he fell out of bullock cart in "Savadatti Yallammana Jatre" .
I could foresee the potential in Raama who was vagabond visiting tea shops , watching TV in hotels etc. Almost everyone opined that Raama was not a suitable person for the work in farms.

Finally , we rented earth mover to take out thorn trees. same time , Raama was present in the field. I asked his to come regularly.

Basuanna accompanied me when this work started. ( Popularly known as Basanagoudru) , "Basanagouda" : this name came from may grand father.

The person in red turbon is Hanamantappa , who worked under my grandmother in this field.

Once the clean up over , he came to Salahalli all the way from Godachi walking to meet me.

We were heading towards Hubli on the same way , we bought him to the land , he explained our area and borders , it would have been half the effort to locate the boundaries if we could catch him before. but we got introduced to Raama. He is with us from that day.

First half of mansoon ( Mungaaru Male) was over by that time , second half ("Hingaari Male) was expected to start any time. Vijuanna pushed me to prepare the land for first seeding.

I was not a know person in the village. but inducing to the place was much easy as our ancestors ruled the village from ancient times.

The work involved was more :Blocking the waterway , plough the land , breaking the ploughed earth cakes, removing the roots of trees which we removed .

As the direction of vijuanna , the works started simultaneously.

Once the bunding stones laid in the way of water flow , ploughing of land started.
This is because , if it rains , the soil should not wash away.

Bunding helps to allow the water to flow and stop the soil in the field.

The land was almost ready , Raama started the work with us , noting the timing of vehicles.

The last bottom right corner picture is Raama.
